![]() Large, well-armored warships brandishing massive, main guns and numerous secondary and defensive AA batteries, battleships are the heaviest, and some of the most powerful ships in the game. Sidelined into fire support roles and with the development of long-range missiles, battleships were slowly and completely phased out in favor of aircraft carriers. However, their practical purpose was often questioned their deployments were few and far between due to their costs and the low (depending on opinion) risk-return they were vulnerable to smaller, cheaper vessels and weapons limited by range and accuracy, naval artillery were being increasingly supplanted by aircraft in the long-range ordinance delivery role, arguably the actual role of the battleship. Incredibly expensive, with massive firepower and protection (and equally manpower-intensive), they were used as a projection of power and a major component of military and diplomatic strategy, creating arms races and being a focal point of naval treaties. (For example: Ryojo is higher on the list than Arizona because she appears longer from above even though Arizona is actually almost 20' longer than the Ryujo overall) Well folks, here's the grande finale of it all! This is every ship in game minus same size sister ships (Examples: No Bismarck, Diana, Cambletown, ARP ships, etc.) and all ships are named after the ship that they are rendered after in game (Examples: Kongo is Hiei, Iowa is Wisconsin, Kuma is Tama, Karlsruhe is Dresden II, ect.) Note: there are some minor errors in the sizing of some of the destroyers (you can learn more about that in the "All Destroyers" thread which will be linked at the bottom of this thread) and it should be noted that some Dreadnought type battleships, which are longer below water than above, are placed below some ships that they are longer than overall. ![]()
